The owner here is so sweet. Whenever we come in she's very welcoming and kind. I've been here twice now. Once on a Saturday at around 2 pm and then on a Saturday in the evening around 7 pm. Both times it was pretty empty, with a to-go order and a table here and there.
The food has been pretty good as well. The first time I got the bento box with chicken Katsu and a California roll. The chicken Katsu was a bit dry and not very flavorful, so I didn't get it this next time. The next time I got the bento box with the spicy chicken and California roll. The spicy chicken was very spicy but also crunchy and tasty. The salad dressing is very flavorful and the miso soup comes out very hot and a great addition before the meal.
My bf got the donburi curry and pork cutlet. The curry options only had pork. But he really liked the curry, even though it is pretty heavy. The menu is pretty versatile and when you come for dinner there is usually a small crowd so it's nice because you can talk in an intimate atmosphere. It's a nice place to grab some quick Japanese food for sure.
The veggie tempura was very crunchy when it came out. So tasty!! -

Very strange service. Food is okay, not good and not worth the price. Extremely hot and stuffy on hot days with no AC.
For any service needs, the server says you need to get up from your table and walk to the counter and ring a bell even though she's in hearing distance for you to ask for help. My disposable chopstick had sharp wood sticking out and she told me to come to the counter for her to give me new one. What am I paying tip for?? I wanted to order one dish first while I decide on a second one to save time. She wouldn't take my order and told me she'll come back later. She also has dirty and sticky plastic bags covering the soy sauce dispensers.
Crispy California roll: Deep fried. Doesn't taste good. Too much fried batter. Tastes soggy and not crispy. My lunch combo also came with rice and salad served on the same plate, which doesn't make sense. Salad dressing went into my sushi. Miso soup is a little too salty. 1/5
8th street roll. Seaweed didn't go well with it. The tempura shrimp and crab tastes ok, not so great. I wouldn't be surprised if it was microwaved. 2/5
Beef teriyaki. Tastes decent, a little too salty. The rice helps but not enough is given. 3/5
California roll. Doesn't taste good or fresh. 1/5
Lemonade. Fresh. Too sour. Seeds left inside. $2.5 seems cheap though. 3/5 -

The Bento House featured some dope decor, and the welcoming waitress/hostess admirably hustled to serve and cook singlehandedly for almost 20 people during a busy lunch hour. The food came out within 10 minutes. That said, the food did not taste fresh but somewhat reheated. I hope the lead waitress gets more support.

Came for lunch with my kiddo. It was empty, just a few pickup orders, but maybe it was before the rush? The food was decent. The restaurant is clean, the service efficient and polite. Was not overwhelmed, was not disappointed, it was simply fair. We split a tempura bento (when in Rome, right?) and it was fresh tasting and, well, exactly what I kinda expected. I would call this place reliably decent.

I had jury duty and stopped by for a quick lunch. I ordered the lunch bento with salmon teriyaki and tempura, which came with miso soup, rice and salad.
Notes:
- Only one person managing all the tables, which can be tough at lunch hour
- Tempura batter was too thick and most of it was burnt
- Salmon teriyaki was dry
- Rice was overcooked
- Best thing about the lunch? The miso soup
I found it strange that the soy sauce containers were all wrapped in plastic bags. Was tempted to ask why, but the waitress was busy enough.
